What We Do
Pre-purchase Building Inspections
A Pre-Purchase Inspection Report will identify major defects on a house before you commit, as a buyer, to a purchase. While Pre-Purchase Inspection Reports aren’t compulsory in NSW, they are well advised. Defects identified will help inform the price you’re prepared to pay for a property, or help make the decision not to proceed. Some defects can run into tens of thousands of dollars while others are purely cosmetic. Our licensed builder can identify the difference. Read more…
Pre-Sale Reports
A pre-sales report will uncover faults on a property that might deter a purchaser from proceeding. It allows the vendor to rectify problems in advance of putting their home on the market. A Pre-Sales Report could help secure a problem-free home sale within the shortest time frame possible and at the highest selling price. Our report will identify those faults or shortcomings which will be unearthed as part of a pre-purchase report. This allows the vendor the option to rectify the problems prior to going to market or to instruct the agent to use the cost of repairs to better negotiate with buyers..Read more…
Extensions
If you need more space but would rather extend than move (often a far better value proposition once you take into account marketing fees, agents’ fees, moving costs, stamp duty and the sheer effort of finding and then moving to a new house), talk to us about your options. We work closely with a number of architects and building designers who can design an extension that will fulfil both your needs and your budget – no matter how large or small.Read more…
Renovations
Our business grew off a backbone of major renovations and extensions on homes all over Sydney and now we bring that expertise to the Highlands. Our experience covers works across the building spectrum from traditional heritage listed weatherboard properties, and sandstone and brick federation mansions, to a simple modern rendered block studio and everything in between. Bathrooms
Bathrooms are one of the most important rooms in the house and designed or renovated well, will significantly improve the amenity and value of any home. We can help you create a design to maximise available space and fit for your budget. It can be as simple as changing cabinetry and tiles, or a complete makeover incorporating new luxury baths and shower spaces, dressing areas and relaxation spaces.
Kitchens
We all know the most important room in the house is the kitchen. It’s the engine room and the pivotal hub of our homes. We can help you remodel your kitchen to create a new look, increase its bulk and scale, create more useable space, improve its fit with an existing theme or help create a more contemporary style to accommodate the raft of new cooking appliances available to integrate into benchtops and cabinetry.
Granny Flats
Do you need some extra accommodation for teenagers or elderly parents? A space for a home office or hobby studio? Perhaps you see an opportunity to capitalise on the ever-increasing demand for weekend rentals in the Highlands. We can help you design a solution to fit your needs from a simple contained outdoor room to a fully functioning standalone living space. We will work with you to create a granny flat that fits seamlessly beside existing structures, using materials to complement your primary residence.
Garages & Carports
Whether it’s refurbishing or extending an existing garage or carport, or changing its usage to incorporate additional living space, a home office, storage or a wine cellar, we can work with you to achieve the best outcome to fit with existing structures. We can also design and construct bespoke character-filled sheds, barns, pool houses and more to fit with either a rural or residential environment, using new or recycled materials.
Decks & Balconies
While decks are a wonderful addition to your lifestyle, they are a structural element that should not be built by a handyman. Our licensed carpenters and builders can design and build decks that are compliant and structurally sound. We work in both timber and modified timber and can provide a variety of balustrades and handrails.
Window & Door Replacement/Installation
New windows and doors can change the look of a room completely, from dated to contemporary, or open up the space to increase your living area. More and more we seek to bring the outside in, and replacing fixed glass or small door openings with bi-fold or stackable doors will create a seamless flow between indoor entertainment spaces and the beauty of your garden. Better controlling the indoor temperature is another reason to consider changing windows and doors. The chill of the Highlands will be less noticeable inside with double glazing, and it provides a secondary benefit of reducing noise from traffic and trains. We can work with you to determine what style and type of windows and doors will provide the best solution and improve the value of your home.
General Carpentry
Our qualified carpenters are not handymen, but are happy to take on the smaller jobs from removing or adding a wall, constructing a bespoke pergola or portico, building a deck or converting a garage into additional accommodation. (We have a one day minimum charge out for general carpentry work.)
Property Styling
Property styling can be about presenting your property in the best possible way because you’re selling, or getting help to achieve the look you’ve crafted on your inspiration board but don’t have the time or the experience to implement. In either case we can help. We can style your home to maximise its positives and downplay its negatives so that your home photographs beautifully and connects emotionally with as many potential buyers as possible. Or if home is where you plan to stay, we can suggest an array of styling options and products to suit your aesthetic and budget, and that reflect your lifestyle and personality. We can shop for you, organize delivery, and then arrange your room or to the smallest detail.
